World Pharmacists Day

World Pharmacists Day takes place today, September 25th. On this day the International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP) encourages the world’s pharmacists to use this as an organised day of activities and events to promote the role of the pharmacist as a health care provider within the local community.

The theme for this year’s World Pharmacists Day is “From research to health care: Your pharmacist is at your service”. This theme reflects the contribution that pharmacists have made to healthcare. From researching and developing medicines, educating pharmacists and providing direct healthcare to customers. I have actively been supported this event in recent years within my pharmacy and this year is no different. We believe that it is important to promote our role in the health care sector while also celebrating our fellow colleagues in their everyday work life.

If you are on Twitter and would like to give myself or your local pharmacist an opinion or comment, just tweet us using the hashtag #WorldPharmacistDay. As a pharmacist, I personally love getting feedback and support from my customers. So, please take a moment today to get in touch with your pharmacist and help him or her celebrate World Pharmacist Day.
