World Asthma Day takes place on the first Tuesday of May each year. This day aims to highlight the awareness of asthma across the world and to improve asthma care services. This event is hosted by the Asthma Society of Ireland in partnership with Boots Ireland.

The Asthma Society of Ireland is a national charity which is dedicated to empowering Irish asthma sufferers to take control of their asthma by providing them and their families with information, education, services and support. Despite there being over 470,000 asthma sufferers in Ireland, asthma still remains in many ways a forgotten disease.

This year for World Asthma Day, the Asthma Society of Ireland are organising a cross-country fundraising event called Bubble Day. If you would be interested in volunteering or fundraising on the day, you can find more information here on how to get involved.
